I help companies uncover future business opportunities stemming from emerging technologies and new interaction methods.
With a background in computer science and in-depth expertise in Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), I specialize in future technologies to create new products and services, connecting unfolding trends with engineering. I work in the intersection between business development and disruptive R&D on mobile technologies, automotive HMI and consumer electronic devices, although my skills can be applied to other technology and UX areas.
I define myself as an inventor, research scientist and engineer. I focus on defining and proving ideas and opportunities through top-down vision driven research, bottom-up user needs research, and engineering. I create working prototypes that convey an actual feeling for advanced R&D concepts and interaction methods. My work ranges from ideation to technology scouting. From proof of concept to the creation of a path towards implementation and productization.
I currently hold 55+ U.S. patents and more than 200 pending patent applications, have created proofs of concept and prototypes that have been showcased at client events worldwide and major trade shows such as CES. My work has focused in the fields of human augmentation, visual and auditory AR/VR, non-traditional HMI, behind-device interaction, robotically augmented devices, kinesthetic/vestibular directions and interaction, gestural and conversational systems, hearables and post-wearables.
Leadership: Demonstrated leadership as a Telehealth project leader, steering cross-functional teams to deliver innovative solutions and achieve project milestones. Managed teams comprised of user researchers, designers, engineers, and QA from ideation and concept development, to prototyping and productization.
Product Management: Proven track record in product definition, coordination, and strategic alignment, leading to the successful launch of LG's Telehealth platform amonst other products.. Managed large grant projects, external contracted agencies, and partners. Contributed to shipping multiple products including Compaq Airlife 100, HP/Palm TouchPad, Palm Pre 2, HP Pre 3, HP Veer, LG Telehealth Platform, and more.
Strategic Thinking: Expertise in strategic alignment with senior leadership, navigating through challenges and ensuring project alignment with organizational objectives
Effective Communication: Strong communication and negotiation skills, serving as the primary point of contact for other teams and partner companies communication, driving feature prioritization, and ensuring seamless collaboration across international teams. Presented large projects and demonstrated products at senior and executive management meetings, customer meetings, conferences, roadshows, and international tradeshows.
Human Computer Interaction: Proficient in Interaction Design, UX design, Human-Machine Interaction, Human-Human Interaction, Multimodality, Cognitive Psychology, and Sociology.
Technical Proficiency: Skilled in system architecture, development, and technology integration, including designing APIs, communication protocols, and application-level code in React and TypeScript. Extensive knowledge in C, C++, Java, Swift, Turbo Pascal, React, XML, HTML, CSS. Working knowledge in JavaScript, SQL, and Bash Scripting. Experience with parallel programming.
Rapid prototyping: Worked on developing concepts to end-to-end prototyping (hardware, software, firmware, mechanical & electrical design), conducting empirical studies (experimental design, statistical evaluation), presenting results, to filing patents.
Hardware: Extensive experience with microcontrollers for robotics and hardware prototyping with sensors and actuators. Working knowledge of circuit board design and fabrication.
Physical prototyping: experienced with laser cutting (Universal X-600), and 3D printing (Stratasys, Makerbot)
